Last Chance to File for PCO

Hey Whatcom County Voters, can I talk to you for a moment?

Time to get involved

I know you are all busy training for Ski to Sea, watching other people train for Ski to Sea, drinking beers and discussing how you thought about participating in Ski to Sea or grumbling about how Ski to Sea is absolutely going to screw up traffic and how you should just do gardening that day anyway, but if I could tear you away for a moment or two, I have a request.

File for Precinct Committee Office (PCO). It is easy, you can do it online right here. It is open until 4pm today. Being a PCO gives you a hefty vote to decide all sorts of party politics issues. You elect Party Chairs, fill replacements, decide candidate endorsements, mobilize your neighborhood and have a first-class ticket to your local democracy.

So, I implore you, if you care about politics, file for PCO.

If you want to get to know your neighbors, file for PCO.

If you think that the Cherry Point Terminal is going to doom us all to a smoke and dust-laden apocalpyse the scale of which wiped out the dinosaurs, file for PCO.

If you think the Cherry Point Terminal will scoop up every jobless person in Whatcom, garnish them with a Job helmet, strap them into a Job Harness, and shoot them out a Job Cannon into the magical lands of “Having a Job”, file for PCO.

If you think that the two party system is incredibly corrupt and disfunctional and you want to build a better way, file for PCO.

If you saw the Avengers last week and thought it was a fun, delightful romp, file for PCO.

If you are confused by all this “Avengers” business because last time you checked, the Avengers were some british chap in a hat and Emma Peel, file for PCO.

Democracy is not a spectator sport, but it doesn’t have to be a marathon race either. Becoming a PCO is an easy, hassle-free way to build a better tomorrow. See you on the ballot!

Running for PCO in the fighting Precinct 219

  1. Done. Just filed for precinct 253

  2. Just filed for 209. And found out a friend had already done so as well. Runoff politics is so messy!!

  3. As always, I listen to you Riley. Fortunately, I was not the only one to file for Dem PCO in my now more walkable new precinct–254. Not only is my neighbor to the right in a different precinct, but my neighbor across the street is in a third one. That makes me a definite fringe candidate!
